My paintings evolve in a meditative process. Sometimes I paint over and over several layers, in a contemplative mood, especially in the abstract paintings. It is a meditation of colors, lines and compositions. The material used is mostly egg tempera or acrylic, or mixed media or collage on paper or canvas.
The paintings I call “inner faces” come from a deep and mostly archetypal layer of the soul, sometimes resonating with other cultures and times, or reflecting impressions or feelings I had during traveling or when meeting people. They are never an outer portrait. Since I have been working for all my life as an art therapist and art instructor, I have had many experiences with the ‘human being’, and so they melt into my paintings, resonating with emotions, thoughts and stories.
There are 4 different working themes: abstract and geometrical works, figurative works, “inner faces” and flowers.
I have been showing my work at single and group exhibitions since 1989, in Switzerland and Germany.
